Im a student from Chongqing, China. Im writing to call your attention to the danger finless porpoises are currently in.

Seriously affected by human activities, finless porpoises in the Yangtze River are in danger of becoming extinct. To our disappointment, only about 1,000 are estimated to be still living at present.

We sincerely hope that WWF can play a role in protecting this endangered species. Firstly, a sponsorship will be of great help. Actions Speak Louder than Words

People celebrate Earth Day differently. In Picture 1, a man is trying to put up a banner on a lonely tree surrounded by stumps, but in vain, while Picture 2 shows a couple happily planting trees.

The message conveyed here is clear: “Actions speak louder than words.” Our earth is suffering severe damage. Should we just pay lip service or take practical measures to protect it? The answer is definitely the latter. Immediate actions should be taken, like stopping cutting down trees, to better the environment.

Actions are important in other fields, too. Instead of shouting empty slogans, it is more meaningful to donate books and sports goods to children in need. We should strictly and voluntarily follow traffic rules, stopping at the red light rather than complaining about traffic jams. Only when we match our words with actions can we make a difference in whatever we hope to accomplish.

Good morning, everyone,

I am Li Hua from Xingguang Middle School. The topic of my speech is “Let’s Ride Bicycles”.

As is known to all, with the improvement of people’s living standards, cars have become a popular means of transport, bringing great convenience to our life. However, they have also caused some problems such as air pollution and traffic jams.

How can we solve the problems then? As far as I’m concerned, riding bicycles is a good solution. For one thing, bicycles don’t need any petrol and they are energy-saving. For another, bicycles are environmentally friendly because they won’t give off waste gas. What’s more, riding bicycles is a good way for us to exercise and it is beneficial to our health.
